Trapped & Bound

I don't want to type these words. Sometimes I don't want to type any word or thought or emotion. Sharing makes me nervous. And to share my thoughts without any real organization of them terrifies me!

But I feel that I need to write. Maybe in the back of my mind I think it will provide therapy or . . . OMG . . . I'll find answers!

I'm trapped inside myself; captivated by my own fears. The biggest fear . . . expression and acceptance of who I am. There! You know my weakness! lol

I don't like reading long blogs or long . . . anything. I just don't like reading. So I'll try not to share so much in one sitting. Now that that's out of the way - Hey! It's MY blog!

I went to JoAnn's to purchase art paper. Wow - talk about nerve racking. I received an easel and paint set for Christmas. I've held off moving forward with painting because I'm terrified at what will come out. I also have never painted before; yet have always wanted to try. I can't draw a straight line to save my life.

Walking through the store I felt anxious and claustrophobic. I was about to attempt something (painting) without knowing anything about it. What type of paper do I buy, brushes, how to create colors, what medium for the acrylics . . . way to many thoughts flooding me and creating such fear. I briefly skimmed through a few books to try and ease my anxiety but . . . just stopped. I just want to put color on white paper.
I took a breath and picked up a pad of "all purpose" paper good for any type of paint and some few other supplies and walked out. I'm sure everything will sit in my studio until I get another move of the spirit to actually start painting. But at least I took a step.
Yeah! I'm writing . . .

I Fall Into You

Like a quiet storm
Breathing in the earth and sky
I move over you - tonight

Like the diamond sky
Brushed in place with love
I paint myself next to you

I fall into you
Like the morning light in the dawn
I fall into you
Like the summer rain upon the ground
I fall into you
And like the light and rain, I feel your love - fall into me

Like the jasmine’s bloom
Carried on the wind’s old song
I will carry you - tonight

Like a midnight mist
Floating ghostly over the fields
I lay my dreams over you

Menage a Trois

Menage a Trois is a French phrase that’s defined with variance. The spirit of this phrase resides in all of us, but most people are unable to validate its residence because it sleeps under a sheet of intimidation in their lives. Intimidation and insecurity keep our true characteristics at bay, like a teenager longing for her first kiss. It is important to understand this French phrase because it will help us discover and bring into the light our hidden characteristics. If we dissect the phrase, Menage a Trois, we find the English translation for Menage to be “household,” and Trois translates to “three”--respectively; therefore, the translated French phrase reads “Household of Three.” As you read about my Menage a Trois, you will discover its members and the rolls they play in my life. I will guide you through my “Household,” and allow you to witness and touch with your imagination the stirring truths that hide behind its doors, in dimly lit rooms. We will peek into the Bedroom, the Living Room, and the Study, to gaze upon three of my characteristics--whom I’ll refer to as my lovers: Companion, Faithful, and Instrumentalist. Come, if curiosity leads you, and discover the truth of my “Household” and the three lovers that make up my Menage a Trois.

Without hesitation, the first room we will visit on this intimate tour will be the “Bedroom.” I encountered the first lover for my Menage a Trois within this room. Her name is “Companion.” Something intensely magical began to transpire, as I courted her with my humorous personality and witty charm. I was exhibiting myself, as a peacock flaunting its iridescent back feathers, when intimacy in its smallest stage began to form. Though intimacy was only a child, it was highly concentrated with an aroma of love. This aroma lured “Companion” and me together and kept us devoted; hence, companionship was born. I discovered “Companion" within this cocktail of intimacy and love.

Let’s slowly progress from the “Bedroom” and take a stroll down the picture-filled hallway, past the bathroom, and into my “Living Room.” As you can see, soft flames coming from the fireplace warm this room, and pictures of my dearest guests have been proudly placed on the oak mantel. This “Living Room” reflects my heart. I found my second lover in this room, while entertaining various guests. My lover’s name is “Faithful.” “Faithful” was drawn to me very quickly; unlike “Companion,” I did not have to woo “Faithful” at all. When my guests enter this “Living Room,” and relax on my oversized couches, they quickly feel at home and openly share their deep and intimate thoughts with me. It was during these special visits when “Faithful” revealed herself to me, and my guests became life long friends.

Can you hear that soft and soothing sound? It’s the music of my third lover, “Instrumentalist.” We find her in the concluding room of my “Household”; this room is the “Study”. “Instrumentalist” is timid and she hides humbly behind her door; yet if you listen carefully, you can hear soft resounding tones melodically escaping from within her chamber. She soothes my heart with calming words and strokes my brow with her gentle fingers. To watch her dance is as fulfilling as seeing the sun sparkle over the ocean’s brilliantly colored horizon. Her mouth, hands, and legs all seem to perform in unison; yet the intrinsic beauty of her heart controls her entire body. “Instrumentalist,” her name rolls passionately over my tongue.

As I bring this intimate tour to an end, I only hope that your understanding of my Menage a Trois is clear. My “Household” has many more rooms of different sizes; these rooms hold my most intimate dreams and personal characteristics. Yet, for now, the bedroom doors will close slightly. You will still see the light of “Companion,” “Faithful,” and “Instrumentalist” though, as it shines through the softly-paned windows within my “Household of Three.”

Life Is Good

"Honey, I'm home."
the door closes behind him
the smell of spaghetti sauce fills his nostrils
son and daughter greet his arrival

"In the kitchen, Hun."
sauce spoon in hand
patterned smock, tight around her waist
love songs from the radio

Life is good.

"I got an oil change this afternoon.
The bastard stripped the oil pan nut.
Six-fifty for a new one. Six-fifty for a new one!
Should have stripped HIS nut."

"Heather received a D on her spelling test.
Michael scraped his knee pretty bad.
Two bandages he needed. Two bandages he needed.
Told them to ignore the pain or they'd make it worse."

"Where's the mail."
glances at the counter top
looks near his chair
picks up the paper

"I looked at the phone bill today."
stirs the sauce
hand on her waist
light from the window, streams

Life is good.

"Damn Lakers!"
When's dinner ready?
There's nothing on tonight. There's nothing on tonight!
We need HBO.

"I didn't recognize some of these numbers.
I called a couple to see whose they were.
I was a little surprised. I was a little surprised.
We need to talk."

"Can you believe Clinton?"
turns the page as the TV shouts
adjusts his chair-arm cover falls off
picks it up

"What were you thinking?"
slowly taps her foot-a nervous click
reaches for the basil
wipes her brow with a towel

Life is good.

"Can you believe Clinton?
I swear to god . . . if I have to pay more taxes next year . . .
Is there anything to drink? Is there anything to drink!
Where's the channel changer?"

"I know what's going on, and who she is.
How long have you been seeing her?
Didn't you consider the kids? Didn't you consider the kids!
What about me."

"You're crazy. Can I just RELAX when I come home?"
throws the paper down
turns up the volume
focuses on the TV

"Why do you hate AND ignore me."
slams down the basil
picks up a knife
tears fill her eyes

Life is good.

"I don't think I hate you and I'm not ignoring your pain.
You're jumping to conclusions.
I'm tired. I'm tired.
Can we talk later?"

"You can call me at my parents house.
Did you even notice the kids today?
Heather received a D on her spelling test; Michael scraped his knee.
Told them to ignore the pain or they'd make it worse.
I told them to ignore the pain."

Dream With Me

She stood laughing
Intoxicated
Born of pure tales and soft dreams

She stood laughing

Unbound with her feet in the light
Calm words on her tongue

Her breath
Warm, delightfully crisp
I should have
Right then . . .
Intoxicated!

She stood laughing
Radiating
Gestures speaking of freedom

She stood laughing

The doorway could not hold life at bay
Her simple thoughts danced
Like fairies in the wind

Her mind
Courageous, boundlessly fierce
I should have
Right then . . .
Radiating!

She stood laughing,
the wind touched her face
A moment . . .past,
like light through her hair
A moment
and chance coward at my feet,
laughing as my heart lay with chance!

Will you . . .
Would you gently
dream
with
me?

Silence spoke my words
As the fairies continued to dance

Claimed Love

What is this love that creeps into my soul;
A love full of conquering, zealous truth:
Hope, faith, and might, entwined; I will extol!
Shirk, yea! Vibrant passion does bleed, forsooth.
Enamored you came to repose round my
Bosom. Bewitched you flew, kindling my hope.
Who are you that I should believe your cry;
Hoaxed as beauty drips in my glass, I tope.
Nay! I guzzle, for fear of losing you.
Your eyes may discover deeper, clearer
Waters; my heart would weep to speak adieu,
To beauty so vibrant, and love so near.
Alas! Your love is mine; no man shall steal
Away my victory, this love surreal.

Speech for Musician of the Month

Thank you so much for hosting this ceremony for me. I’d like to share a few things with you briefly. First, I want to thank those who support me and managed me; second, I’d like to share briefly about my accomplishments during my first 10 months in Secondlife®; and lastly, I’d like to honor the Secondlife® venue owners and enthusiast.

First, thanks to all of you who voted me as Musician of the Month! If it wasn’t for you AND the 300 + members in my group AND Bringiton Paine’s Music Hall of Fame, I’d still be on the outskirts of the Secondlife® grid. I came into Secondlife® in July of 2008 through one the most passionate and enduring musicians, Aussie Blackburn. If it weren’t for him and his crooning friends down-under, like Jackdog Snook, RaRa Destiny and Jessy Somer – I wouldn’t even be here. I used to sing with all these brilliant musicians on a program called Skype™ – years before entering Secondlife®. (FYI – my Skype™, MSN, and CamFrog ID is acousticenergy – feel free to add me)

AcousticEnergy Nitely’s very first gig was at an outdoor venue called The Drunken Mermaid. I believe I was one or two gigs into performing there when I met Brickhouse Frog – AKA Bricky. Asking nothing in return except for maybe a hug after each performance, Bricky became my manager and quickly began networking and landing gigs for me. Well, from being a total newbie by stumbling over my words between songs, having the mic and guitar volume too low, and showing up without pants – I’m here 10 months later and awarded Bringiton Paine’s Musician of the Month, of which, I’m humbly honored. And may I add that the venue owners endured this learning curve with me. Sooo – Thank you to them and to Bricky for absorbing most of the ass kicking and drama in Secondlife®, which allowed me to simply show up and play at the venues.

Now on to some accomplishments - Through these 10 months I’ve played hundreds of gigs, tons of benefit concerts from ‘Relay for Life®’ to ‘Make-A-Wish®’ to ‘Earth Day’, Birthday and Rez Day parties, weddings and intimate one-on-one serenades; in addition to singing for couples who simply wanted a passionate night of soft, warm vocals to cozy up to. I also had the honor of being the featured guest of Angelico Baii’s, Metaverse-TV. I was actually the first guest to appear in human form and not as an avatar; but I think the reason for choosing human form was due to me wearing a tank top in my music video, which by the way you can see on these sites:

Venue owners! Wow – I wish I could name all of them and everyone connected with them but it would be overwhelming. Each venue and their owner deserve more than a simple mention in this speech. I strongly encourage you to tell others about the venues you visit, and keep visiting them! Unfortunately, half of the venues that AcousticEnergy has performed at have dissolved back into the pixels that formed them. And that goes without saying, that it’s so critical to support the venue owners and Secondlife® enthusiast continually. It’s enthusiasts like BRINGITON PAINE with her MUSIC HALL OF FAME, and WOLFBRINGER SIXPACK, ORTHO VARGAS, and COURTESAN DECUIR from OD DESIGNS, and BENETHAR FLUFFBALL, owner, founder, and manager of THE GERSHWIN ROOM and PHANTASCAPE RADIO 10808 who, in Secondlife® and across the internet, extend themselves above and beyond. These highly enthusiastic people give not only give their own Linden but also countless hours of time and energy to make Secondlife® what it is. If it weren’t for these creative and enduring supporters, then all the musicians, artists, and groups would not have a place to express, or a platform to give us quality entertainment. Gwampa Lomus didn’t charge me or Bringiton Paine to have this ceremony at his amazing, four sim venue – Gwampa is simply a true and loyal supporter of bringing audible and visual stimulation to us. So God bless these individuals and please continue to show your support to them, not only with words of encouragement, but with your Lindens too.

In closing, thank you for accepting me into the Music Hall of Fame and for awarding me the prestige’s title of Musician of the Month – I’m honored. I think I get to play a few songs now, so if you want to stick around, I’d love to sing for you.
